SYNPHAET NANGLINGEE

Spanning 45,000 square meters, Synphaet Hospital Sathorn-Nanglichee is strategically situated in the central business district (CBD) of Bangkok, Thailand. Collaboratively designed by A-Architects, PIA Interior, and SHMASOEN Landscape Architects, this high-rise structure serves as a comprehensive facility catering to both outpatient and inpatient needs.
The architectural vision for the hospital encompasses three key dimensions: urban planning, architecture, and hospital planning. Meticulously crafted to strike a balance between honoring architectural history and aligning with the future developments of Bangkok CBD Sathorn, the design embraces a distinctive copper surface with gold hues, reflecting the significance of the business districts within the vibrant city. The ground floor is thoughtfully designed to be open and accessible, featuring an inviting entrance hall, versatile exhibition space, café-bar, and a bookshop. This design philosophy fosters a dynamic dialogue between the institution and the public, creating a mutually enriching interaction. The mixed-use nature of the building extends its functionality to include clinics, retail spaces, and service lounges.
The facade of the structure is characterized by a series of “gold fins” and curtain wall insulated glass, strategically employed in varying densities. Drawing a parallel to fabric, the architects describe the facade as an enveloping dress, creating a distinctive aesthetic. This design choice aims to showcase the entire city with a top-tier, specialized treatment approach, all within the framework of a reasonably priced hospital. Synphaet Hospital Sathorn-Nanglichee emerges as a beacon of architectural innovation and urban integration, offering a seamless blend of functionality, aesthetics, and accessibility in the heart of Bangkok’s bustling CBD.
